Artist's Description
Antelope Canyon is a Sandstone Sistine Chapel in the middle of desert. This type of geological formation is called a slot canyon. It was and is being formed by the abrasive forces of rock and rapidly running water, during periodic flash floods.
This is without a doubt the finest example of a Slot Canyon in the world, as such it has become a congested tourist trap. I'm not saying don't go,by all means go you will get some great photos! The town of Page Arizona is within a few miles of Antelope and Cork Screw Canyons. The Glen Canyon Dam,Lake Powell, and The Horseshoe are other great tourist and photo sites in the area.
About Gary Warnimont
Hi my name is Gary Warnimont. I can't remember when I wasn't fascinated by photographs. I remember getting to use my dad's Polaroid Land 1 Camera . Grew up went to college, studied photography and art. Went to work as a catalog photographer. Still am a location advertising photographer. Asleep yet? I am posting my personal work on this site. It is about fun and boy hood vacation adventures. The documentation and restoration of roadside advertising folk art and museum artifacts is an on going project of mine. Hope you enjoy!!!

yeah, I think the Navajo Nation has kinda gone the way of Disney when Isner took over.Monument Valley as well.I guess the bigger bucks will help out but feel like part of the spirit of these places has also gone.
